You might have seen the news in Sifted (article: The Most Active LPs in Europe), ranking Isomer as the 4th most active LP in Europe and 1st when removing government-sponsored investors.

But what does it mean to be active, or even better pro-active LP? Here is a summary of what we do for VCs:

Sharing insight, benchmarking and market intelligence: often our VCs don’t have full visibility on how the industry is performing or have access to information outside their local ecosystem. To that end, we share benchmarking data with them and information we get from other ecosystems.

Access to Isomer network of GPs: Since 2013, Isomer has organised the European Venture Capital Manager Event, a VC-only event, regrouping GPs from all around Europe. This has been instrumental in creating connections between GPs from different regions, increasing cooperation on deals and improving the DD on some portfolio companies.

Engaged and informed LPAC member: we are today on 77 LP Advisory Committees (LPAC) and we have seen many situations such as exit, succession, fund construction, defaulting LP, extension, continuation funds etc… Therefore, we are trying to be an active member of these formal meetings, helping the GP in its operations and finding constructive solutions for every situation.

Agile capital: We are the Partner for capital and liquidity. Some VC funds, toward the end of their fundraising, require a top-up of commitment to reach their target. Isomer is often the first to commit to these adjustments. Also, when LPs of underlying funds look for early liquidity, Isomer can purchase the position or help find an interested investor willing to purchase the LP position.
